To counter Reliance Jio and Airtel, Idea Cellular has come up with a new plan for its subscribers. The telecom operator has launched Rs 109 plan that offers unlimited local and STD calls, 1GB data(4G/3G/2G), 100 SMS per day for a period of 14 days.
It should be noted that the unlimited calling is restricted to 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week after which a user will be charged at 1 paisa per second for all local, national, and roaming calls. The plan is similar to that of Idea Cellular’s Rs 93 plan, but it offers benefits for ten days, while the Rs 109 plan offers the same benefits for 14 days.
The plan is available in a few circles, including Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Bihar and Jharkhand, Gujarat, Haryana, and Karnataka, among others.
The new plan will rival Reliance Jio's Rs 98 plan which offers 2GB 4G data along with unlimited local and STD calls and access to Jio’s suite of apps like JioTV, JioCinema and more. Also, after the 2GB data limit is exceeded, internet speeds will be reduced to 64Kbps. This plan is valid for 28 days.
Recently, Airtel also launched a similar plan. The telco offered unlimited local and STD roaming calls and 1GB data in total as well as 100 SMS free per day for 28 days at Rs 93. But Airtel’s Rs 93 plan is limited to Andhra and Telangana circles.
