IBM launches new cloud migration and deployment services

IBM has launched  two new services- IBM Cloud Migration Services and IBM Cloud Deployment Services  to make it easier for enterprises to move their data and applications to the cloud.

While Cloud Migration Services helps businesses get ready to move to the cloud, IBM Cloud Deployment Services improve business agility and efficiency with a centrally hosted IT-as-a-service solution ready for immediate use. It is a fully managed orchestration and automation platform for building private and hybrid clouds across multiple platforms and service providers.

"IBM Cloud Deployment Services provides agility by deploying automated patterns and workflows that capitalize on VMware Software-Defined Data Center and cloud automation technology. Gain control, streamlined management and a customized, dedicated portal and dashboard," the company says in a blog post.

IBM says its Cloud Migration Services offers customers a self-service Discovery module to help them collect accurate data about the existing environment. They can then tap into a global pool of skilled migration engineers who are trained in a broad range of tools. It also notes that Cloud Deployment Services also helps companies take advantage of the “IBM Services Platform with Watson capabilities”
