IBM Global Services in India achieves CMM Level 5

BANGALORE: IBM Global Services in India has been assessed at Managed Level 5 of the Capability Maturity Model (CMM) prescribed by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) of the Carnegie Mellon University, USA.

IBM Global Services India claims to be the 16^th company in the world to achieve this highest level of maturity. IBM Global Services president Pawan Kumar said "achieving CMM Level 5 is a very important milestone for IBM as it incorporates all three aspects of people, processes and technology for getting the highest value for our customers."

CMM is a model of a software development environment developed by SEI. The model gives a framework for software development and maintenance that describes the progression from an adhoc software process to a well-managed software process in terms of maturity levels in the model.
