BANGALORE, INDIA: Huawei Telecommunications India Co. Ltd, a leader in providing next-generation telecom network solutions for operators, announced the setting up of a unique social initiative in association with Concern India Foundation, directed toward educating girl children in the National Capital Region of Delhi.
As part of the initiative, about 30 Huawei India employees -- both Chinese and Indian participated in the Vodafone Delhi Half Marathon -- a 7Km “Great Delhi Run” -- this Sunday, to raise awareness for education of the girl child in the country.
Huawei will focus on the crucial social sector of the country and contribute toward the upliftment of the Indian society through meaningful and creative contributions through leading non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the country from time to time.
In tune with this commitment, Huawei has tied up with the Mumbai based NGO, Concern India Foundation. The NGO will administer this programme for a period of one year beginning for the girl children of socially deprived communities of the NCR region.
Max Yang, CEO of Huawei India, said: "We are proud to contribute towards education of the needy. Through this, we will aim to raise the awareness levels for education of the girl child by experiencing and understanding the social issues of this great country."
