From over two weeks, students and parents all over the country have been trying to tweet to the HRD Minister. All of the concerns lie on one topic. Cancel Exams. Min. Ramesh Pokhriyal was supposed to speak out on Monday regarding whether the exams have been cancelled or not. And he finally said something, advising the UGC.
In a twitter post, he said:
I have advised the @ugc_india to revisit the guidelines issued earlier for intermediate and Terminal Semester examinations and academic calendar. The foundation for revisited guidelines shall be health and safety students, teachers and staff.@PIB_India @MIB_India @DDNewslive

Woes of parents and teachers
Students and parents want the exams to be cancelled. There are some exceptions, but JEE, NEET, CBSE, CA, CS and college students are under tremendous stress. Netizens are rigorously following every one of his words just to get the slight hint of exam cancellation. This tweet might come out as some relief but we are still not sure of what will be the actual guidelines.
Major entrance tests come under the direct preview of the centre. States can only make decisions on the university within their dominion. As for Maharashtra, Orissa, Telangana, Karnataka, exams stand cancelled for all college-going students. But UGC still has to talk about the exams in Rajasthan, WB, Uttar Pradesh etc.
Within 10 minutes of him speaking out that he has told UGC to revisit their actions, the comments section is flooded with over 200 tweets asking for news on exam cancellation.
As for JEE and NEET, NTA is responsible to issue news on them. Still, we wait for Min Pokhriyal to speak up on the owes that parents and students are facing amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
