HP will resell Seagate’s ClusterStor 1500 and 9000 appliances along with its HPC solutions. This partnership will support HP’s Apollo portfolio of products and services, which manage HPC workloads in complex computing environments.

“At this level of computing, simplifying the process of deriving insights from large amounts of data is tremendously helpful — especially as we work to achieve breakthrough discoveries in areas such as neuroscience,” said Dr. Christopher Hill, principal research engineer, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). “The joint solution from HP and Seagate will be integral in helping advance our research.”

In addition to MIT, the enhanced HP HPC solutions will benefit a wide range of users in fields such as bio informatics, pharmaceutical discovery, upstream oil and gas modeling, weather simulation, academic and government research.
