The Windows 10 Anniversary Update has started rolling out to Windows 10 PCs across the world already. But it will be rolled out in phased manner- starting with the newer machines first.
For those who can’t wait for the update to roll out to them, Michael Fortin, CVP, Windows and Devices Group Core Quality in a blog post has shared the steps to get the update manually.
Here are two DIY guides for all of you who hate to wait:
1. Go to Settings > Updates & Security > Windows Update
a. Click ‘Check for Updates’ under Windows Update.
b. The Update will show as‘Feature update to Windows 10, version 1607’. You can click update and the update will begin downloading and installing.
c. Click Restart Now to restart your PC and complete the installation process.
2. The other way to get the latest updates would be by clicking ‘Learn more’ just below the “Looking for info on the latest updates? In Windows Update.
From there you’ll be taken to a support page on Microsoft.com that will allow you to download the ISO file to your PC.
But do that when you have some time on hands, as your system will not be available for a significant amount of time, once the update process starts.
