Hero MotoCorp CIO and CHRO Vijay Sethi quits; the two positions filled provisionally

Vijay Sethi has quit Hero MotoCorp Ltd as it CIO, CHRO and as the head of Corporate Social Responsibility. The reason for his leave is still unclear. In his absence, Pradeep Eledath will act as interim head of the IT function until the company appoints a CIO. Pradeep has more than 25 years of experience in information technology, digital transformation and cyber security. Further, Mike Clarke who joined the company recently will be given the role of chief operating officer / CHRO at Hero MotoCorp. Clark, an HR veteran, served as the managing director of MJC Global Solutions.

The annuncement has come through a email from Pawan Munjal, chairman of Hero MotoCorp. In his email to the employees, he wrote,“I am writing to inform you that Vijay Sethi has left the organization, effective January 22, 2021 after 13 years of service.” He further added the two interim appointments.

About Vijay Sethi

Sethi had joined Hero MotoCorp in September 2007 from Ranbaxy where he was director - business solutions (IT). There, he was responsible for ensuring value delivery from IT investments in the organization since 1996. Sethi in his previous stint has also worked with Tata Consultancy Services. He holds a Masters degree in Industrial Engineering, an MBA in Materials Management, and a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

His longest stint has been with Hero MotoCorp. With Hero MotoCorp, he also served as a Director on the Board of M/s HMCMM Auto Ltd. (A joint venture of Hero MotoCorp and M/s Magneti Marelli of Italy). He is also a member of various national forums including Chairman of IT committee of Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Co-Chairman of CII Core Group on Cyber Security, member CII’s National Committee on IT ITeS and Board member of SAP India User Group (INDUS). Further, he has also been a Member of National Knowledge Council and IP committee of CII.
