Groww strengthens senior leadership with four key appointments

Leading investment platform Groww has brought onboard veteran industry leaders Dr Narsimhan VR and Mr RK Nair as advisors. Mr Ashutosh Naik and Mr Navaneethan M have also joined Groww‘s senior leadership team. They will serve in the capacity of Chief Compliance Officer and Vice President, Information Security respectively.

Speaking on these hirings, Lalit Keshre, Co-founder and CEO, Groww said the hiring will help Groww scale further. “As we continue to build delightful products for retail investors in India, the senior-level leadership will help us strengthen our position as a safe, secure, and transparent investing platform,” he said.

About Dr Narsimhan VR and Mr RK Nair

With more than forty years of professional experience, Dr Narsimhan VR joins the advisory board of Groww. Dr Narsimhan VR has held senior managerial positions in marquee state and national level institutions. His roles spanned across policy formulations, regulatory processes, compliance functions and business operations, among others.

He served as the Chief Regulatory Officer of National Stock Exchange of India. Before NSE, he was with Kotak Bank as an Executive Vice President, where he served as Chief Executive Officer of Kotak Mahindra Pension Fund. Before Kotak, he served as Senior Vice President at National Securities Depository Limited. He has also served as division chief of secondary markets in SEBI.

Mr Radhakrishan Nair comes with more than forty years of experience in the banking industry in the field of securities and insurance regulation. Mr Nair served as the Managing Director of Corporation Bank Securities Limited. He has also presided over as the Executive Director at Securities and Exchange Board of India.

In March 2010, he joined Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) as Member (Finance and Investment). Additionally, he has served as an Independent Director on the boards of several prestigious organisations. Some prominent named include ICICI Bank, Geojit Financial Services, Inditrade Capital Limited, Axis Mutual Fund Trustee Limited and Touchstone Regulatory Advisors Private Limited among others. Mr Nair is also a Trustee in National Pension Scheme Trust.

About Mr Ashutosh Naik and Mr Navaneethan M

A compliance professional with more than 21 years of experience in managing regulatory, governance, legal and strategic matters, Mr Ashutosh Naik joins Groww as the Chief Compliance Officer. Before joining Groww, Mr Ashutosh Naik was heading compliance at IIFL Wealth Management and has been pivotal in the launch and growth of various businesses of IIFL Wealth Group. Mr Naik is a member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and has a bachelor’s degree in law.

Mr Navaneethan M comes with more than 18 years of experience in various areas of cybersecurity and risk management. His work experience includes working with as PayU, Deloitte, Capgemini among others.

He brings rich expertise in CISO/CIO operations, Strategic Cybersecurity Account Management, Enterprise Security and Risk management, Cyber emerging technology, Cyber Threat Landscape, Hacking and countermeasures, Business development, Cybersecurity Business Operations, Program Management and People leadership. Mr Navneethan M joins Groww as Vice President- Information Security and Head-IT.
