The Government of India launched this program in 2019. But during the lockdown, HRD Minister Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal insists teachers, to upgrade their skills at home. The platform aims to improve the quality of school education. On the platform, there are various courses to train teachers. When it was launched, it aimed to reach over 42 lakh teachers.
What areas will NISHTHA programme improve?
The main aim of the portal is to improve the learning outcome of a student. This can be done when the teacher can create a more inclusive environment. The lessons will teach teachers to be more responsive to the social, emotional and psychological needs of students. Moreover, the lessons will also include teaching more technology-based and activity-based learning. Not just teachers, but the portal will also transform the Heads of Schools to provide academic and administrative leadership for the schools. This will help them to foster new initiatives for students.
