Google "Removes" Remove China Apps and Mitron from Play Store over deceptional behaviour

The OneTouch App Labs on Tuesday confirmed that Google took down its "Remove China Apps" Apps. In an ironic move, the Remove China Apps that got a good userbase in India got "removed". Google has listed the same reason as that of taking down the TikTok competitor "Mitron"- The app violates the terms and conditions that Google Play Store has provided.

Remove China Apps 'removed'

Before Google delisted the app from the Play Store, the 'Remove China Apps' app had about 5 million downloads. The OneTouchAppLabs took to Twitter to announce the removal.

Google, too, has confirmed the report and stated that it decided to pull the Remove China Apps for violating Google Play's Deceptive Behaviour Policy. This policy that doesn't allow apps that “encourage or incentivise users into removing or disabling third-party apps” and “mislead users into removing or disabling third-party apps”.

Can you still use it?

Yes, those who have the app in their phones can transfer and use the app. The app started making headlines when Indians started boycotting Chinese products. The app scans the device, uses market research and lists the apps made in China. After that, users can delete the apps that they don't want. The app was only available for Android users.

Mitron App controversy

For those who don't know, Google Play Store also removed the TikTok competitor Mitron app. It stated that the app violated Google's 'spam and minimum functionality' and repetitive content policies. The short video-sharing app rose to popularity after the TikTok controversy in India. Later, it also came in a bad light after people found that the app was sourced from Pakistan.
