For Google Pixel, it's the rumor time. As it was with Apple's iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus.
We're just a few hours away from the launch of Google's Pixel smartphones and the leaks continue to pour in. After a couple of Canadian carriers and a British retailer, now Verizon has also leaked details Google's Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones.
So here we bring all the rumors regarding the tech giants soon-to-be-unveiled smartphone under one roof:
1. After receiving plenty of leaks in the virtual space, let's conclude that both Google Pixel and Pixel XL look identical. Google may for the first time, announce two identical looking smartphones, just that the Pixel XL is an inch bigger (overall size) than the standard Pixel model.
2. The 5.5-inch screen is a 2560×1440, quad HD model which is protected by Gorilla Glass 4. The specs suggest a 3450mAh battery while the 5-inch model has a 2770mAh battery and a 1920×1080 screen.
3. The back of the device features a camera and flash module with noise canceling holes. Both the variants have a 12-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera.
4. With dual speakers, the devices each have 4GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage (for the base option). The processor is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821, which is capable of handling 4K video.
5. Both have the circular fingerprint sensor that we saw introduced on last year’s Nexus 5X and 6P phones.
With 600mbps download speed over LTE, Google wants these phones to be the fastest possible at getting you where you want to go online.
6. Coming to the software bits, the built-in Google app now comes with a heavy dose of the Google Assistant. In fact, according to Android Police, Google may skip on the ‘Now’ branding and simply call its search ‘Google’ instead. The same was also indicated in the massive Carphone Warehouse leak.
7. The Pixel phones will also offer unlimited storage for photos and videos and all of them will be stored in full resolution. Google Assistant integration, new navigation bar icons, new rounded iconography and a smart new launcher can be expected with the Android 7.0 Nougat update .
6. According to Verizon, both Pixel and Pixel XL will reveal something called 'Google Magic'.
Though currently, we have no official information on 'Google Magic', reports say it could be a new software feature related to Google Assistant.
7. Verizon's listings also revealed a blue color option in addition to the silver and black options.
8. The current rumors state that the Google Pixel will be priced at over $600, which is roughly around Rs 45,000 and this is expected to be for the 32GB base version.
With no memory card expansion, the models with higher storage capacities will be priced a lot higher, and the XL models above them.
