Who is going to be CEO of Mindtree: Rajeev Mehta or Debashis Chatterjee

Yesterday, CNBC-TV18 reported that Debashis Chatterjee, former Cognizant executive is expected to be new CEO of Mindtree. Now today, TOI reported that Rajeev Mehta, former Cognizant president is taking charge as the new CEO.

News Update: Mindtree appointed Debashis as new CEO

Debashis and Rajeev, both are former Cognizant executives. Debashis quit in May after serving Cognizant for 23 years and Rajeev had worked for 20 years at Cognizant, joined L&T in April.

A formal announcement on the Mindtree appointment was expected today, August 1, but now it is expected on August 2.

According to the report, both Mindtree and L&T remained silent on the new leadership announcement.

Former Mindtree CEO Rostow Ravanan had resigned after L&T took 60 per cent stake in the company, along with other promoter executives chairman Krishnakumar Natarajan and chief operating officer NS Parthasarthy, who also resigned from the board, from executive roles, and as employees.

The new CEO will have challenges in his role to build an aggressive strategic plan to keep the balance between Mindtree and L&T work culture and improve margins.
