Gionee, the Chinese mobile phone manufacturer based in Shenzhen, along with IPL team Kolkatta Knight Riders, announced the brand's new identity - "Make Smiles" and unveiled the team’s latest jersey on Monday. With the new branding initiative, the smartphone company will focus more on the design and form factor of its upcoming Smartphone’s.

Gionee, the principal sponsor of Kolkata Knight Riders IPL team since 2015, will be spending over Rs. 150 crores in 2016 to roll out the new identity and logo in India, and a wide range of future ready ‘smilephones’. Gionee says its new phones will have unparalleled design and form defined by attributes like slim, ergonomic, lightweight and durable along with long lasting battery life. Gionee M5 plus will be the first smartphone to carry the new smiling logo.

Make Smiles”, the company’s new tagline and the new smiling face logo has been created as an expression of the attitude that Gionee believes in thoroughly - a desire to create happiness for consumers and engage with them in the delightful moments of their lives.
