BANGALORE, INDIA: If you are among those trying to know your provident fund (PF) account details and eager to know how much money is deducted from your monthly salary to your PF account, then here is a solution
Starting from this week, you need not rely on your company HR executive or with an admin assistant to get an update on your PF.
The new solution launched by the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) allows members to download their e-passbook every month and access their PF accounts online.
Yes, it also helps those who have quit the service but have yet to settle their accounts. The facility to download the passbook on request basis is also available.
If you are thinking how to access your PF account details, then the answer is simple. Thanks to the user-friendly registration process on the website.
All you need to do is register on the member portal by using an identification proof number, such as PAN, Aadhaar, National Population Registry, driving license, passport, voter ID, ration card and use the mobile number as password.
The portal also allows the members to add multiple ID numbers and use anyone for logging into their respective accounts. After the registration, members can download the passbook by entering their account number. If the passbook is available, it can be downloaded.
The details of each transaction done from a member's account will be available in the e-Passbook. The facility debars those members who come under the exempted establishments under the EPF Scheme 1952 (as the fund details are maintained by the Trust) and members, whose accounts are inoperative or accounts where no contribution has been received in the preceding 36 months.
