We don’t know if its goof-up or some well-planned strategy but there’s surely more than what meets the eye here. We all know that Amazon India is the exclusive partner to sell OnePlus smartphones in India. But this morning when we opened Flipkart, we saw a huge banner for the sale of the OnePlus 3 smartphone during the company’s upcoming Big Shopping Days sale, starting from December 18.
If that wasn’t enough of a surprise, the page showed hugely discounted pricing for the OnePlus 3 of under Rs. 20,000. Well, we weren't the only one to feel surprised and curious, apparently, OnePlus Co-Founder Carl Pei too was sailing in the same boat.
Pei expressed his surprise in a tweet:
.@_sachinbansal brother, what's this? We're exclusive with @amazonIN pic.twitter.com/0QBoyagoXz

There hasn’t been any response from Bansal to the tweet.
Amazon sells OnePlus 3 for Rs. 27,999, and Flipkart’s teaser mentions it to be below Rs. 20,000. But there’s a twist. On Flipkart’s OnePlus 3 landing page, the 64GB Soft Gold model is listed as coming soon, and priced at Rs. 27,999, so the sub-Rs. 20,000 price tag mentioned in the teaser is likely to be the cost after cash backs and exchange discounts.
Flipkart has not mentioned when the smartphone will be launched on its platform.
