BANGALORE, INDIA: Field Engineer, a new company that is rethinking how B2B work gets done, particularly in the telecommunications industry, has recently launched the Field Engineer app for iOS and Android.
The platform helps companies delivering telecommunications services, including communications service providers (CSPs), hardware manufacturers, value-added resellers (VARs), managed service providers (MSPs) and retail chains, to find the right field engineer when they need it and ensure that work is completed within their standards.
With Field Engineer, they can better handle job backlogs and business expansion to locations where field resources aren’t available. This helps in reducing labor costs also as one can hire field engineers only when there is work to do.
The app already has more than 15,000 field engineers signed up, across 137 countries. More than 4,500 jobs have been completed to date also.
The company was founded by Malik Zakaria last year with the vision to solve the problem of companies which have telecommunications work – service providers, hardware manufacturers, managed service providers and more – to find the right field engineer quickly and with the skills that match the job’s needs.
"Field Engineer is particularly relevant in India today, because as we’ve seen the India telecommunications industry continue to consolidate, it’s becoming more challenging for companies to manage field service operations on their own, and do so efficiently," said Zakaria. "Field Engineer addresses this challenge by automating the entire process of a telecom job using smart algorithms – from when the job is requested to ensuring that it’s executed."
It helps to manage all paperwork, liability insurance and background checks to bring a field engineer onboard, alleviating administrative burdens. Filed Engineer also helps the service providers to adhere to specific standards so that they can be confident that their customers are getting a trusted, experienced resource that aligns with how they do business.
