Due to the rise in the digital transactions across the world, PayPal has launched a new facility to send and receive money via Facebook Messenger. This means, users will now be able to send and receive money through PayPal's peer-to-peer payment system without ever leaving the app.
“When composing a message in Messenger with one person, or even a group, people can tap on the blue plus icon, and then select the green Payments button to quickly send or request money,” Bill Ready said in the blog post. He further added, “People can then choose PayPal as their funding source when making a P2P payment with their Messenger contacts.”
When chatting on Messenger, one can tap on the blue plus icon and select the green payments button to quickly send or request money. Users can then choose PayPal as their funding source when making a P2P payment with their Messenger contacts. At the moment, the P2P payments system is available in the US only, where PayPal has over 2.5 million accounts that are linked to Facebook.
In addition to this, PayPal is also introducing PayPal customer service bot in Messenger, so that PayPal customers can easily receive payment and account support directly in the app. The bot will enable people to have meaningful customer service interactions, such as resetting passwords, handling account inquiries, and helping with refunds or payment issues so we can help you get what you need and get on with your day.
