Face Unlock feature is now coming to OnePlus 5

The OnePlus 5 will be getting face unlock feature which is currently available only on the OnePlus 5T. Carl Pei, founder of OnePlus confirmed the feature via a tweet.

The face unlock feature lets you unlock your mobile phone via the facial recognition technology. The technology is much faster than the fingerprint unlock but is less secure. However, OnePlus did not announce when the feature would be available to the devices. OnePlus says the update is being rolled out to a small number of users first before making it widely available in the coming days. The company announced that there is no plan to bring the face unlock feature on the OnePlus 3 and 3T.

Specification wise, OnePlus 5 features a 5.5-inch full-HD Optic AMOLED display with a 1080x1920 pixel resolution. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor coupled Adreno 540 GPU.
