IIT Kanpur announces extended deadline for IIT JAM admission

IIT Kanpur has rescheduled the admission process of IIT JAM 2020. It was earlier scheduled to begin from April 9, 2020. Now, the admission process of IIT JAM 2020 with the submission of application form will begin from April 16, 2020.

The IIT JAM exam is for students wanting to pursue MSc or PhD in one of the most reputed institutes in the country. IIT-K has postponed the admission process due to the Coronavirus outbreak and lockdown. The first admission list will now be published on June 15 instead of June 1. IIT Kanpur has also published the information brochure for JAM Admission process mentioning process and other details.

The extended dates are:

The application intake will begin from April 16 as opposed to April 9. They will continue till May 6.

First Admission List of IIT JAM applicants will be available on June 15.

Second Admission List of IIT JAM applicants will be available on June 30.

Final Admission List of IIT JAM applicants will be available on July 13.

Candidates can apply for JAM 2020 only through JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS). A candidate has to first register on JOAPS website, by providing his/her name, a valid E-mail address, a working mobile number and a password. He/She must give an E-mail address and phone number that he/she uses and checks frequently. All communication to the candidate from JAM 2020 will be sent to this E-mail address and/or via SMS.

The Enrolment ID will also be sent to the mobile number provided by the candidate. The candidate needs to use this enrolment ID along with the password for all JAM 2020 related communications or website operations. Candidates are advised to keep the ID along with the password information safe and confidential.

After you have downloaded your IIT JAM scorecard, go to the candidate portal available through https://joaps.iitk.ac.in/ on April 16. Use your ID and Password and upload your documents. Sit back and wait for the admission list available on June 15.
