Rahul Jaimini is an IIT-Kharagpur 2010 graduate. He, then, went on to intern with Virginia Tech and Philips Research for three months each. Then, he has worked at NetApp for almost three years. At NetApp, he was the part of Data Protection Group where he was responsible for the development, testing and debugging of operating and file systems that ran the app. He created data protection technologies through duplication and redundancy.

At Myntra

After NetApp, he joined the eCommerce firm Myntra. There he was a senior software engineer. There, he headed a small team that had a project to handle discounting, pricing and promotion engine. He was responsible to make it fast and design on revenue-impacting projects. Today, the program can handle all types of Offline Store Discounts.

He has worked on many roles at Myntra including SEO related work. Rahul made a full-fledged admin written over Django to control content for individual and a family of URLs (static, search and product pages). He also wrote features for the portal in general. For this, he used the service endpoints using Java EE, Python, PHP, Javascript, Shell etc.

Then, he was an SSE at Myntra. Here, he was responsible for delivering end-to-end revenue-boosting projects. He wrote features on the portal and APIs in the backend. Rahul says, "Since the tech stack is entirely based on Java, JS, PHP and Python, it mostly cached me for frameworks like Spring, Hibernate, Django and Node. Although C remains my first and last love."

At Swiggy

Rahul founded Swiggy along with Sriharsha Majety and Nandan Reddy in 2014. He was the primary tech developer at Swiggy. This included platform engineering, analytics, IT, and Swiggy Labs. He also oversaw Swiggy's evolution into the complex system that harnesses the terabytes of data. He developed AI/ML to deliver personalised experiences at scale.

Swiigy had been home to Rahul for over 6 years. The three founders met through mutual friends and made Swiggy one of the largest food-tech company in India. Majety, in a press release, said:

We developed this implicit sense of trust very quickly, despite not having known each other for more than a month. Since then, the three of us have had our highs and absolute lows, but our dogged belief in the mission and each other has kept us going through crazy tough phases.

The app was the first brand in India to offer live tracking in delivery services, courtesy to Rahul.

Yesterday, May 7, 2020. he has quit the online food ordering firm due to issues undisclosed. Dale Vaz, the head of engineering and data science, will carry on all of Rahul's responsibilities.

Rahul Jaimini joins Pesto Tech

Jaimini will be joining Pesto Tech, a career accelerator startup as their cofounder. Pesto Tech trains and invests in the most promising programmers from all over India. The trainees will be trained in the Design Thinking, Product, Architecture, and Business Logic. The start-up raised 2 million dollars last year. Along with the fundraiser, Matrix Partners, Swiggy founders Sriharsha Majety,  Rahul Jaimini and Reddy had also participated in the round.

Finally, Rahul Jaimini will continue to be a board member and a shareholder at Swiggy.
