DRDO or the Defense Research and Development Organisation produces cutting edge technology fit for the defence of the country. They have been on the forefront to develop PPEs for doctors fighting against Coronavirus. It has developed ventilators, N95 masks, bodysuits, hand and body sanitiser, bio suits and sanitizing chamber.
Now, they want the material to reach people as soon as possible and thus they have released news of their centre change for testing labs. In a press release today, the organisation has announced that it will be shifting its testing facility from Gwalior to Delhi. The press release read:
To overcome the time delays and swift delivery of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and masks, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has shifted testing facility from Defence Research Development Establishment (DRDE), Gwalior to Institute of Nuclear Medicine & Allied Sciences (INMAS), Delhi. The INMAS is another premier Life Science Laboratory of DRDO. The facility at INMAS is fully operational for testing and evaluation of bodysuits and masks. More than 50 batches of these items have already been tested at the laboratory.
The DRDE, Gwalior which has been at the forefront in fighting COVID-19, has now been tasked to do the testing of masks. These masks are received by HLL Lifecare Limited. It is imported from foreign countries before it is distributed to various agencies.
