DRDO Announced Season 2 of Dare to Dream: 7 Things you should know

The DRDO announced the second season of its most awaited challenges for Startups and Innovators. It promotes emerging technologies from individuals and startups. On Monday, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh announced the challenge on the 5th death anniversary of former President and noted scientist Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.

As DRDO, in an official notification, said, "Dr Kalam, also known as missile man, had the vision of self-reliance. The scheme is being launched for emerging technologies to promote the individuals & startups for innovation in defence and aerospace technologies in the country after the call of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ given by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi."

So, here are 7 things that you need to know about the Dare to Dream challenge:

1. The theme of this challenge is innovation in the defense and aerospace technologies.

2. DRDO will evaluate the winners based on an expert committee.

3. The winners will get 10 lakhs for the startup. Further, individual winners will get 5 lakhs.

4. Defence Minister announced the theme "Ignited Minds" on the 5th Death Anniversary of former prez Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.

5. PM Narendra Modi's ideology of Atmanirbhar Bharat will also play a big role in the innovations.

6. All kinds of startups and innovators from India can participate in the challenge.
