Commvault is a global enterprise software leader in the management of data across cloud and on-premises environments. The company today announced the appointment of John Tavares as Vice President, Global Channel and Alliances. In his new role, Tavares will oversee the growth of Commvault’s Global Partner Organization. He will also strengthen the company’s relationships with partners worldwide.
This announcement, further, comes after Commvault appointed Rachel Ler as VP & GM, APJ.
About John Tavares
Tavares joins Commvault from Dell EMC. There he worked in a variety of sales leadership roles first, for EMC. Later, he continued through the merger with Dell, for the last 25 years. During his tenure with Dell EMC, Tavares grew the company’s data centre business. His major roles included working with the software, hardware, and services. He also built a world-class sales team and increased revenue YoY.

What else changes?
With this change, Commvault’s former Vice President of the Global Partner Organization, Mercer Rowe, will take on the role of Area Vice President for Commvault’s business in Japan. He will focus on growing Metallic, Commvault’s SaaS division, in the region. He will also further strengthen Commvault’s presence in the Asia Pacific.
