Christmas cheer from Vodafone; offers unlimited calls and 1GB daily data

To counter Reliance Jio's popularity among the masses, Vodafone announced a new prepaid plan offering unlimited local and STD calls and 1GB daily data for 28 days at Rs 198. According to the telecom operator, the new plan also offers 100 free SMS per day.

The company also announced a new plan for first-time rechargers, its FRC plan of Rs 229 offers 1GB 4G/3G/2G data per day. Other benefits like 100 SMS per day, and unlimited local and STD calls for 28 days are also included in this bundled plan. This offer is open to all new Vodafone customers irrespective of which handset they’re using.

Avneesh Khosla, Associate Director, Consumer Business, Vodafone India, said, "With 1GB data per day and unlimited calling, the plans will take care of all their (users) communication needs."

Reliance Jio also announced a couple of plans for its subscribers. The telecom operator is offering unlimited voice calls (including roaming), 100 SMS per day, 1.2GB 4G daily data, for 28 days. The second plan from Jio offers 2GB 4G daily data for 28 days at Rs 299.
