India is one of the biggest democratic countries where you can see assembly elections now and then. We witnessed, Haryana and Maharashtra elections last month and now Delhi elections will be held in Feb 2020.
Whether you are a first-time voter or casting your vote from last few years. If you have moved to any new location or requested for any change in the voter ID, it is better to check your name in the voters' list beforehand.
As like to eliminate fake voters, Election commission of India (ECI) run a programme to verify voter ID details called Election commission of India Electors Verification Programme. You can also check your name in the voters' list, and in case it is missing, you can meet to your booth level officer to fix the issue.
Check your name in the voter list
It is quite easy and can be done in a minute only. You can do it two ways –
1. Search by Details
Step 1: Visit the National Voters’ Service Portal
Step 2: Provide your details including name, DOB, State, etc.
Step 3: Enter the ‘Captcha’ code and then hit the search button
2. Search by EPIC No.
Step 1: Visit the National Voters’ Service Portal
Step 2: Enter your EPIC no (Voter ID card number)
Step 3: Select state
Step 4: Enter the ‘Captcha’ code and hit the search button
In case, there is any change required in your Voter ID card, you can visit your nearest CSC or voter centre. You can fill the required form and pay a nominal fee to request a change.
