The board exams for 2019-2020 happened during the lockdown. But the uncertainty of CBSE 2021 has made the students ponder when the exams will happen. Commenting on the exams, a CBSE spokesperson stated, “No final decision has been taken regarding the dates for the conduct of board exams, and consultations with stakeholders are still in process. The exams, as and when they happen, will happen in written and not online mode. The exams will be conducted following all COVID-19 protocols.”
CBSE 2021 Board examinations will happen in written mode and not online, the CBSE said on Wednesday. Given that practical examinations may not be possible for many students due to the COVID-19 pandemic; CBSE is considering alternatives for the 2020-21 examination cycle.
Exams syllabus reduced by 30%
Since students were not able to go to school during this academic year, they have had to rely on distance education instead. From Zoom classes and television lectures to WhatsApp lessons and self-study, students had to rely on non-class modes. CBSE 2021 reduced the syllabus for the Class 10 and 12 board examinations by 30% to ease the burden on students.
New Exam Pattern
CSE 2021 introduced a new question paper pattern for the Class 12 board exams. Thus, schools have now started preparing the students for the exams. Many schools have supported the move. They stated that the focus of the new paper pattern is more on the comprehension skills of the students. This time, the paper has increased Multiple Choice Questions as well as case studies.
Schools are going to conduct three-hour written pre-exams for the class 12 students. Thus, they are keeping in mind several aspects; the need for them to remain in touch with writing, time management and ensure they have practice in the new question paper pattern as well as apply their thinking skills.
As these exams will determine the conduct of JEE Main 2021, NEET 2021 and other competitive exams, knowing the dates is imperative.
