In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, there are speculations that CBSE might delay the board exams 2021 by 45-60 days or shorten the syllabus. According to sources, CBSE has already started the process to hold Class 10th-12th exams earlier than expected in 2021 and has completed the process of list of candidates, examination forms (LOC). Several CBSE schools are also making efforts to follow their time table in order to complete the syllabus on time. This way, they are trying to ensure that students do not face trouble if examinations are held earlier than expected.

1. CBSE to soon release the exam dates

There are several reports doing rounds that CBSE might declare the datasheet in the coming days. The official exam dates for the crucial examinations will be available at the official website. PTI last reported that several school principals in the Delhi and adjoining areas are not in favour of postponing the CBSE board exams next year. They are of the belief that the continuing closure of schools due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and then the late exams will disturb the higher education prospects of students.

2. Exams still earlier than you expected

Keeping in mind the entrance examinations such as NEET, JEE, etc, the board is likely to conduct class 10, class 12 board exams 2021 earlier than expected. However, the Board had made no official announcement in this regard.

3. Delhi Education Ministry asking to conduct exams in May

The Delhi government had last month written to not conduct the board exams next year before May. They are also asking to further reduce syllabus as schools still continue to remain closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had also raised the issue at NCERT's council meeting last month chaired by Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank'.

3. Class 12 Practical Exams might get cancelled

This may sound a relief to a lot of students. But these are just rumours. In any case, the board has also shortened the Class 12 Practical Syllabus for session 2020-21.

4. Marking schemes and sample papers are out

The Board has released the Marking Scheme for Class 10 Science Sample Paper 2021. This marking scheme is helpful to know the suggested answers for all questions given in the sample paper. With the help of this Science marking scheme, students can learn the right method of answering any question. Moreover, the marking scheme also mentions the criteria according to which marks will be allotted to different answers during the checking of answer sheets of CBSE Class 10 candidates.

5. Syllabus reduced by 30%, sample papers set accordingly

The CBSE has released the latest sample papers with marking scheme. Further, it indicates that it could hold the exams on time. Notably, these sample papers are prepared as per the reduced syllabus. With the release of the sample papers, those appearing for the board examinations will get to know the format of questions that will be followed by the CBSE.
