After the public announcement of Byju's acquiring Aakash Institute for what is the biggest edtech deal, the company has now announced Byju's Future School. Not long ago, the founders of Byju's on different occasions have stated that they believe that blended learning - both online and offline- will be the future of schooling. Reiterating the idea, the company has built ‘BYJU’S Future School’.
The Future School idea is based on the success story of WhiteHat Jr, which the company acquired last year. The interactive learning model aims to set a new benchmark in live online 1:1 learning. Further, both the companies together will launch the global program. Karan Bajaj, Founder and CEO, WhiteHat Jr will lead the initiative.
“We believe that through technology, we can inspire kids all over the world to fall in love with learning. Our global expansion comes at a critical time as families are actively looking for supplemental learning that encourages their children to be creative and learn by doing,” says Byju Raveendran, Founder and CEO, BYJU’S. “This launch furthers our vision of creating active learners across the world,” he further added.
About BYJU'S Future School
According to the company, the Future School aims to cross the bridge from passive to active learning. For that, it aims to offer an interactive learning platform that blends real-time instruction with lessons. They aim to generate creative outcomes for kids aged between 6-18 years. The course, blended with coding, will further help students learn concepts while creating applications.
Other subjects like Math, Science, English, Music and Fine arts will help students engage in learning through storytelling. “Our mission is to empower the next generation to think differently, to ignite creative zeal, to make them creators. This will get a huge boost with the launch of BYJU’S Future School in more countries, offering multiple subjects. This is a purpose-driven expansion and we are confident that more and more students globally will gain from this initiative,” states Karan Bajaj.
The company has also stated that they will launch the Future School in the USA, UK, Australia, Brazil, Indonesia and Mexico in May. They will further progressively expand to more geographies. Over 11 thousand Indian women teachers will lead the courses, Moving ahead, they will hire teachers for non-English speaking countries like Brazil and Mexico. In these countries, the Future School will offer the coding curriculum in Spanish as well as Portuguese. It will further onboard qualified women teachers to engage with students in these two countries.
