Bookings for Reliance Jio 'free' 4G mobile phone to resume after Diwali

Well, if you are one of those who is eagerly waiting for the second phase of bookings for Reliance Jio 'free' 4G mobile phone, we have a piece of good news for you.  JioPhone pre-bookings will reportedly start again after Diwali, once the first batch of deliveries is completed.

Citing a Reliance Retail channel partner, a PTI report said that Jio is likely to resume pre-orders for its 4G feature phone between October-end and November first week. An estimated 6 million JioPhones were booked in a single day in the first phase of pre-bookings. The better than expected response could have been a possible reason for the delay in the shipment that began during the Navratri.

The device that was unveiled at the Reliance Industries AGM on July 21, 2017, is available to customers at an effective price of zero. Customers are required to only pay a fully refundable, one-time, security deposit of Rs 1,500 against every JioPhone to avoid potential misuse.

As for specifications, 4G VoLTE-enabled JioPhone features an Alphanumeric keypad, a 2.4-inch QVGA display, and it runs KaiOS. It supports voice commands in 22 Indian languages and connectivity options include a headphone jack, microphone, speaker, and FM Radio.

Reliance Jio recently announced a new data plan for its users offering full cashback on Rs 399 recharge under its Diwali Dhan Dhana Dhan offer. Under the new Diwali Dhan Dhana Dhan offer, Jio customers who purchase the Rs 399 recharge pack between October 12-18 will get eight vouchers of Rs 50, totaling Rs 400. For example, after you get a Rs 50 voucher, you can use it to buy a recharge of Rs 309, and you will only need to pay Rs 259 via debit card, credit card, net banking, or other payment means.

The 399 recharge pack provides customers with 84 GB of data(1 GB per day), free SMS, free voice calling and the subscription to Jio apps with a validity of 84 days.
