Baidu announces support to Hindi at NASSCOM conference

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Baidu, the Chinese language Internet search provider, has announced that version 3.0 of its Android app store MoboMarket is now available in India, and will support Hindi language.

The announcement was made during the 2015 NASSCOM Game Developers Conference (NGDC) in New Delhi.

According to Tim Yang, General Manager, Baidu India, the previous version of MoboMarket already has over 4.5 million monthly active users in India and has a content library of over 5,00,000 apps and games.

Other features include:
•    Localized content and a recommendation system specifically designed for Indian users, which will highlight apps related to local holidays and events

•    An optimization tool to speed up smart phone performance

•    A MoboMarket points system in which users accrue points by accomplishing daily tasks. Those points can then be exchanged for gifts

•    A smart, localized recommendation system for users in India

According to Yang, “MoboMarket is helping to build the foundation of a healthy local ecosystem, which will really benefit the Digital India initiative.”
