Evergreen reduces a cars gas emission and the time the driver has to wait in front of red traffic lights, by suggesting the best speed for phased traffic lights, based on the current navigation route.

The theme for the Atos 2014 IT Challenge, as further shared in a release, is creating an app for an Enhanced Games Experience for Athletes, Volunteers, Spectators and/or Visitors to the Host City of Rio de Janeiro. Students from universities in the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, US, Austria and India are invited to work in teams of two up to five students, tasked with finding new, innovative and useful applications.

The winning team will be given a trip to Barcelona including visiting the Atos Olympic Games IT excellence Center, meeting the Experts (from the IOC, the IPC, the Rio 2016 Organising Committee and Atos) to investigate if and how Atos can support to develop the app. The two runner up teams will be awarded an Atos Diploma demonstrating outstanding achievement and the chance to apply for a highly sought after internship at Atos.

This competition is a fantastic learning experience for the students, the universities and ourselves. We are looking forward to seeing how the students turn their university knowledge into exciting, commercial applications for the Games. We encourage students at the participating universities to apply."
