Apple’s troubles with iPhone 6s are still not over. After the reports of ‘Touch Disease’ and Apple’s $149 repair service, the Cupertino giant has now launched its second new repair program for “a very small number” of iPhone 6S models that have been unexpectedly shutting down.

Phones that display the issue — reportedly only devices that were manufactured between September and October last year — will be eligible for a free battery replacement under the new offer.

According to Apple, this isn’t a safety issue and only causes the iPhone to repeatedly shut down. The owners of these faulty devices shouldn’t worry about any explosion or fire like those in the case of the Galaxy Note 7.

To check if your phone too is affected by this problem, the company is suggesting a visit to an Apple Store or to some Apple-authorized service provider to verify the corresponding serial number on your device.

Before heading into a store, iPhone 6S owners need to back up their data, erase settings, and turn off Find my iPhone. The company also says problems like cracked screens won’t be fixed as part of the new repair service, and unexpected shutdowns on devices manufactured before or after the specific window won’t get you a free battery replacement.

Apple also states that it will reimburse the battery replacement costs if an iPhone user has suffered a similar issue and got their batteries replaced prior to this statement.
