Apple Watch Series 3

Apple unveiled its Apple Watch 3 last week alongside the iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus with much fanfare. The USP of Apple Watch 3 is that it has a built-in cellular modem that enables users to make a phone call and access data without using an iPhone. But, what if we say that the USP is already failing the tests?

As per some initial reviews from The Verge and Wall Street Journal, the much-hyped smartwatch has connectivity issues and its LTE does not work as expected. In a statement, Apple acknowledged the problem saying that the problem stems from the Watch attaching to "unauthenticated Wi-Fi wireless networks without connectivity." The Cupertino giant added that it's "investigating a fix for a future software release."

The Watch is designed to rely less on the iPhone and lets users answer calls, get texts, talk to Siri and access third-party apps without being tethered.

Apple Watch Series 3 starts shipping in the US from tomorrow i.e. September 22 but the reviews could affect the future bookings. The smartwatch costs $329 without cellular and $399 with cellular. It works with the four major carriers in the US with subscription plans starting at $10 per month.
