Apple is working on a 6.1-inches iPhone model that will resemble the iPhone X and cost just $699, according to KGI. After tipping about the three new models that Apple will release this year, trusted KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo now claims that the 6.1-inches LCD iPhone will apparently resemble the iPhone X with a similar full-screen design, but at a more accessible price point of $699 just like iPhone 8.
According to Kuo, the LCD iPhone model will use components such as an aluminium frame instead of a stainless steel body of the iPhone X, hence the price discrepancy.
All this sounds like a winning formula to Kuo who expects the 6.1-inches LCD-screened model to be Apple's "most popular" 2018 device, and to see total sales of around 100 million units. In comparison, the current iPhone X is expected to ship a total of 62 million units in its lifetime.
Alongside the 6.1-inches iPhone, Apple is also expected to launch a new and improved iPhone X with souped-up internals and a larger iPhone X Plus with a 6.5-inches OLED display. While KGI expects the lesser-speced model to retail for $699, pricing for the other two models is not yet known.
