Apple is going to launch three new iPhone models with aesthetics similar to the iPhone X, according to a report from Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities. Kuo predicted that all three versions of the iPhone X (iPhone X, iPhone X Plus, and a 6.1-inch iPhone) will come with 3D sensing technologies to enable Face ID and Animoji as well as a full-screen, thin-bezel design with the absence of a home button and wireless charging facility.
The report claims that iPhones with LCD panels will come with 5.7-inch or 5.8-inch screen size and a larger 6-inch or 6.1-inch display. As far as the OLED models go, they might range between 6-inch and 6.5-inch screen size.
In addition to the LCD version of the iPhone X, Kuo has detailed the second-generation iPhone X and the iPhone X Plus. The latter is said to have a larger, 6.5-inch display and up to 25 percent larger battery capacity. The batteries on the new iPhone models will come in an L-shaped design.
Apart from these devices, some reports making rounds on the web hint at the successor of the affordable iPhone SE, aka iPhone SE 2. But Kuo says that the iPhone SE 2 is not happening. He believes that the company "may have used up its development resources" on the flagship trio it's prepping for this fall. Furthermore, Apple will want to do all it can to avoid any shipping delays for this year's models.
If, however, the phone does get launched, Kuo expects it to be a minor refresh with a faster processor and a lower price than its predecessor. It won't employ iPhone X-like features such as a full screen design, Face ID, or wireless charging.
