Among Us undergoes emergency maintenance due to increased hacking; will add new features

Among Us, the famous imposter game is undergoing maintenance due to an increase in hacking. Several users have been complaining about logging out, and the company has apologised for the problem. The updates have been effective October 22, yesterday.

Moreover, with every announcement, Among Us developers are making sure that users know this. "There will not be an Among Us 2!" Instead, the team will develop the current game to have new features and stages and more.

What did the game say?

Talking about the maintenance, the game flashes the following message.

Hey everyone!

Due to the increased hacking, Among Us is undergoing an emergency maintenance. You may see connection issues as servers are updated. I will remove this message when it is done. We are also working on an accounting system with reporting and moderation features to fight toxicity. We will launch it as soon as it is done sometime in November.

Finally, a reminder that Among Us 2 is cancelled because we're putting all our work back into Among Us 1! Thanks for playing!

Mostly, they are updating the servers. It says, "Forte is still working very hard to figure out our server issues. We don’t have an ETA but things should hopefully be getting better and better. This is taking up all development time on his end."

Further, they are adding more features instead of the second version. For instance, the game will add colourblind support. The game plans on adding other identifiers for players as well as certain colour focused tasks (like wires). This should also open the potential for more colours. Currently, there are only 12 colours. Also, the game will add an Account System.

There will also be a brand new stage! Among Us, developers said, "It is still very early and we have only just begun designing the layout. The theme has been settled on though! The next stage in Among Us is going to be a Henry Stickmin themed location!"
