After IISc Bangalore announced the JAM 2021 results, a qualified candidate should apply for admission to colleges using the Admission Form available at the JOAPS website; irrespective of the Institute where the candidate seeks admission, he/she needs to fill the form online. The period for submission of the Online Admission Form is April 15 to April 28, 2021.
Irrespective of whether a candidate has qualified in one or two Test Papers, they can submit only one Admission Form. The completed Admission Form must list, in an option form, all the programmes at IITs (along with the order of preferences) where the candidate seeks admission.
How to Apply for Admission for MSc and PhD in IITs and IISc after qualifying JAM 2021?
Log in to the JOAPS website and provide the required information. This includes the choice of the programmes in order of preference, educational qualifications, percentage of marks/CGPA, category, PwD status, etc. Carefully choose the order of programme preferences and further pay a non-refundable fee of ₹ 600.
How to find if your application got selected?
Through JAM 2021, students can only apply for any IIT and IISc. But admission depends on various factors like ER, MEQ, Merit List etc. Thus, students should not lose hope, because the admitting institutes will release three lists of admission depending upon the seats. One important thing to note is, that the second and third list of admission depends on seat availability.
JAM 2021 participating institutes will release the first list of admission on June 16, 2021. After that, students need to submit an acceptance form with an advance seat booking fee of ₹ 10000 (General, OBC- NCL, EWS) and ₹ 5000 (SC/ST/PwD) online through JOAPS, within the deadline in the offer letter. On confirmation of admission, the JOAPS will transfer the amount to the Admitting Institute. Further, it will be adjusted against the Institute Fee at the time of Registration.
Subject to seat availability, the second and third list of admission will come out on July 1 and 16, 2021, respectively.
