2016 will surely go down in history books as the year of high-tech elections. From Facebook live chats to viral music videos, tech mania is at its all-time high in this poll season. However one independent candidate seems to have made a giant leap leaving everyone behind by making a mobile app to promote himself.
The Left Democratic Front (LDF)’s independent candidate P.V. Anvar in Nilambur has made an android mobile application that will provide up-to-date information about all aspects of Mr. Anvar’selectioneering. The mobile app, which can be downloaded from Google Playstore, will give the day, time and place of Mr. Anvar’s campaign.
The app will not only have photographs, songs and videos of the campaign but will also give live coverage of the same. The candidate’s stand on various development issues, including tribal development, is also available on the Android application.
Leader of the Opposition, V.S. Achuthanandan will inaugurate the mobile application at a function to be held at Edakkara near Nilambur on April 24. The app also has an idea-box facility which allows voters to register their opinions and suggestions. “We made the application possible even when many others were dreaming about it,” said Anil Kurupan, one of the campaign managers of the LDF.
