Restrict specific content in a group – WhatsApp lets you create and add member in your group, Telegram goes beyond. It allows you to restrict specific content to be shared in the group. Admin can set permissions what not to be shared, enabling users to be focused for what the group is created. For instance, if you are part of a professional group, but someone shares political content or jokes, you can restrict those content.
Send mute messages to individual or group – Sometimes, you have good info to share but its not the right time to disturb anyone, so you can send a mute message to an individual or a group. The mute message means no notification to the receiver. WhatsApp is missing this feature.
Get notified when someone mentions you – You must be a part of WhatsApp group and may you have muted one of more than one groups because of irritating notifications. But, as you have muted the group, you could miss a message especially for you. Telegram lets you mute the group, but you get notified whenever someone mentions you or reply to your message in the group.
Limits messages in a group – Telegram has a slow mode where you can restrict the number of times a user can share messages in a group. This is a very beneficial feature that lets group admin control the message flow. This mode restricts group members to send messages as per the time interval set by the group admin. Also, the user will get to know their time limit and how much time they have to wait to send the next message. So, no clutter of messages.
Max file size limit – WhatsApp has 100 MB of file sharing limit, while Telegram lets you share 1.5 GB of content. It is a huge gap between the two messenger platforms. Nowadays, a video could go beyond 100 MB of size, WhatsApp lacks behind Telegram as you can share a movie over the chat.
