Torry Harris to increase head count

BANGALORE: US-based Torry Harris Business Solutions, a provider of services for Middleware technology, plans to increase its current headcount of 750 employees in Bangalore and Shenzen, China to 1000 next year.

The company has around 50 engineers at its China center while the rest of the developers work out of Bangalore. “We have been complementing the skills of both India and China. We don't find language a barrier,” said Ashwin Krishna, COO, Torry Harris Business Solutions.

He said that Chinese engineers had good technology skills in the integration space. Krishna also added that the company plans to take up new technology initiatives in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Open Source Software (OSS). The company recently achieved SEI-CMM level 5 quality certification.

The company's clientele includes telecom service providers in Europe, large banks in the retail and credit insurance space, government and healthcare segments. Krishna also said that the company is keen on tapping the Indian market. “Demand for middleware has grown in a big way in India in the last 18 months. We are already working with one customer based in India-Daimler Chrysler.”

By the end of this year, Torry Harris will centralize its operations by relocating its four existing offices to a centrally located site where it will have the capacity to further expand its business.
