LG has introduced a new smart speaker- ThinQ powered by Google Assistant. The smart speaker is being touted as LG’s “first premium smart AI audio product” that doubles up as a nifty smart home hub. The LG ThinQ Speaker is powered by Google Assistant and LG says it teamed up with Google directly to deliver the full Assistant experience.
By the looks of it, LG ThinQ comes across as a high-end competitor to something like Google’s recently launched Google Home Max.
At IFA 2017, Google had announced that more third-party smart speakers with Assistant would be hitting the market in the near future, but it sounds like LG’s will be one of the very few that supports Assistant’s complete AI repertoire, much like Google’s own Home devices.
Unfortunately, the company hasn't revealed more details about the LG speaker, beyond the fact that it will offer a full reveal at CES 2018. Presumably, this is when we’ll be able to learn more about its voice and audio technology, and most importantly, the price.
Besides the smart speaker LG has also announced a new SK10Y soundbar and portable PK series Bluetooth speakers.
