The Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced), also known as JEE Advanced is conducted for admission in UG and int-PG courses in IITs. The JEE Advanced exam this year will happen on September 27. The date comes after NTA postponed Jee Main 2020 several times due to coronavirus pandemic.
The IIT Delhi released the JEE Advanced application form 2020 on September 12. If you are from top 2,50,000 JEE Main 2020 rank holders, fill the JEE Advanced form on the official website. Eligible candidates will have to register and submit before the JEE Advanced 2020 application form last date, i.e. September 17. Moreover, to ease student burden, IIT Delhi has offered some relaxations.
JEE Advanced 2020: Relaxed Criteria
1. Relaxation in requirement of class 12 marks
Students no more have to face the minimum 75% marks in class 12 for admission- criteria. Although, this relaxation is only available to the year 2020-21 students. This rebate has been provided keeping in mind the hardship faced by students at this pandemic. Increase in
2. Female Supernumerary Seats
The IIT council has increased the number of female supernumerary seats by 20% in 2020-21.
3. Increase in the number of exam cities
The IIT Council has increased the number of centres from 171 to 212. In order to have less number of candidates in one exam centre, they have done this. Also, you can see in the brochure, about the new cities.
4. Increased option selection
Students will also be required to select 8 options of exam cities while filling the application form.
5. No exam in foreign centres
The organising institute also kept the restrictions on foreign travel and coronavirus spread all over the world. Thus, JEE Advanced 2020 will not happen at any of the foreign exam centres including Dubai, Dhaka, Singapore, Kathmandu. The exam was also to be conducted in the USA as per the initial announcement this year.
Male candidates belonging to General/ OBC (NCL)/ EWS categories have to pay JEE Advanced application fee of Rs 2800. The JEE Advanced 2020 application fee is Rs 1400 for females/SC/ST/ PwD categories.
