Bangalore - Lucent Technologies (NYSE: LU) today announced that Vivek Mohan will take up the role of President and CEO of Lucent India. Mohan joins the India operation from a senior leadership role in Lucent's Supply Chain Network organisation based in Shanghai.

As Lucent's senior executive in India, Mohan will focus on expanding Lucent's presence in the India market, one of the world's fastest growing markets. He will report to Bart Vogel, president, Lucent Asia Pacific.

Mohan comes to Lucent India with 5 years of experience in senior positions in Lucent's optical networking and supply chain operations where he developed best in breed solutions. Prior to Lucent, Mohan had 9 years experience of doing business in India, as the founder and leader of two successful entrepreneurial enterprises based in India and in the United States, followed by a consulting position with Nortel Networks. In these roles Mohan has held a number of sales and marketing positions.

Mohan holds a master of business administration degree from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from CSU Hayward.
