NEW DELHI, INDIA: The newly-appointed TRAI chairperson J S Sarma will focus on preparing long-term policy for the telecom industry, which is currently lacking in the system. After NTP 1999, India never had a long-term telecom policy covering various topics. The country's broadband policy has failed to deliver on its promises.
