BANGALORE, INDIA: Lenovo today announced the debut of ThinkPad W700, the first-ever 17-inch widescreen mobile workstation engineered to deliver unparalleled performance to data and graphics-intensive user environments. The ThinkPad W700 incorporates the industry’s first built-in digitizer and colour calibrator in a mobile workstation and combines these innovations with first-in-market technologies such as new NVIDIA Quadro FX mobile graphics.
The workstation supports the upcoming Intel mobile quad core processor, thus benefitting users with the highest level of mobile workstation, power and performance. In line with Lenovo’s environmental commitments, the ThinkPad W700 meets and exceeds criteria for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Energy Star 5.0 program for computers, which takes effect in July 2009. “Given the specific and intensive needs of niche user segments like photographers and digital designers, we have created the ultimate mobile workstation.” said Jaivinder Singh Gill, Executive Director, Commercial Business, Lenovo India. “Lenovo has packed the ThinkPad W700 with sheer power, performance and cutting-edge innovation, thus, providing the perfect mobile solution for our users. We believe that the ThinkPad W700 will revolutionize and outperform the industry with its optimized speed, unmatched stability and ultimate visual experience.”
According to IDC, the compounded annual growth rate for the worldwide mobile workstation market has been more than 60 percent per year since 20021. The ThinkPad W700 mobile workstation extends Lenovo’s commitment to workstation users, complementing Lenovo’s W500 mobile workstation and ThinkStation S10 and D10 workstations. As workers in fields such as digital content creation, computer-aided design and manufacturing, digital photography and science fields including the oil and gas industries become increasingly mobile, they are demanding the full-featured performance of a desktop workstation in a mobile workstation.
