He will lead and mentor CA’s India sales and development operations

MUMBAI, INDIA: Independent IT management software company CA, Inc today announced that Saurabh Srivastava will join CA effective April 6, 2009, as chairman of CA India. The announcement was made by Michael Christenson, CA’s president and chief operating officer.

“Saurabh, in the unique role of chairman of CA India, brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience about the Indian market and IT industry, which will be invaluable as we seek to expand our operations in India and position ourselves appropriately with the country’s technology elite, government and venture capital communities,” said Christenson.

Srivastava will report directly to Christensen and will lead and mentor CA’s India sales and development operations, said a press release.

CA maintains offices in Mumbai, Bangalore and New Delhi and an R&D facility in Hyderabad. Currently more than 30 per cent of CA’s worldwide development is performed in India and India is CA’s fastest growing geography, the release added.

“CA is on the leading edge of the software industry in helping companies effectively manage the IT services required to drive business success,” Srivastava said.

“The Company has made a substantial investment in India and is a perfect partner for not only Indian companies, but India’s growing IT service providers. I look forward to representing CA and helping in its efforts to expand operations in India.”

Srivastava’s IT career spans corporate and start-up companies, and industry associations, said the release. He worked in the US, UK, India and Singapore in senior positions with companies such as IBM and Unisys before becoming an entrepreneur and venture capitalist.

He founded the software company IIS Infotech, which in 1998 merged with Xansa, an outsourcing and technology company. He also co-founded Infinity Ventures India’s first early stage fund and is chairman of the Indian Venture Capital Association, the release added.

Srivastava also has played an important role in promoting technology in India and with the India Government. The co-founder of NASSCOM, the premier Indian software industry association, he was also the chairman of the Indian Government’s Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council, the release said.

He has also chaired the IT Committee of the Federation of India Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
