BANGALORE, INDIA: Indian telecoms Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd will soon start due diligence of Kuwaiti telecom Zain, BSNL's Chairman Kuldeep Goyal said on Friday.
BSNL and MTNL have been invited to join a consortium, comprising little-known Indian firm Vavasi and a Malaysian investor, which has agreed to buy a 46 per cent stake in Zain.
He was interacting with reporters after the nationwide launch of the prepaid broadband service of BSNL here today. Goyal said the service would help strengthen the broadband penetration in the country, as was the case of prepaid mobile.
