BANGALORE, INDIA: Technology enthusiasts and paparazzi are having a field day at San Jose currently, where an unreleased iPhone 4G has been found on the dance floor of a local bar. Analysts had confirmed recently that Apple is set to release its new 4G model in late spring or early summer. CEO Steve Jobs said recently that an updated mobile OS would be ready this summer.
Under these circumstances comes a report that the 'unreleased' iPhone 4G was found at a San Jose bar inside of an iPhone 3G case.
Engadget, which reported this first, said, "Right now we don't have a ton of info on the device in question, but we can tell you that it apparently has a front facing camera, 80GB of storage, and isn't booting at this point (though it was previously, and running an OS that was decidedly new). It's not clear if this is definitely a production model, or just a prototype that found its way into the world, but it's certainly a compelling design, no matter how you look at it."
As rumourville has it, there are a bunch of people who would like to believe that it was a Japanese counterfeit of the iPhone, and nothing to do with the unreleased model. Again, why would a company like Apple, which guards the secrecy of its unreleased products as fiercely as a tigress would to its newborn cubs, actually allow an employee to take a prototype out and risk beer spillage on it?
Whose side are you on? Do you think its really the iPhone 4G?
